In its launch year alone, 2021, the platform recorded over 80,000 tick sightings. The growing prevalence of ticks was brought to public awareness, in part due to media coverage highlighting the staggering number of reports.

In just a couple of years, Punkkilive has established itself as a popular service supporting tick research. The platform’s map has now been tagged with over 160,000 tick sightings.
